Chef Daniel Krohmer
Dan Krohmer grew up in Placerville, California and first worked in a kitchen doing sushi prep at Mikuni Japanese restaurant in Sacramento. He went on to study the art of sushi in Japan and Kaiseki, and serve as sous chef and sushi chef at Masaharu Morimoto’s eponymous Philadelphia restaurant. After moving to Las Vegas, while preparing to open his own restaurant, he worked at acclaimed Japanese Cuisine by Omae. On March 17, 2015 he realized his dream of owning his own restaurant when he opened the doors of Other Mama.
Other Mama is Las Vegas’ hottest new seafood restaurant, and the brainchild of Chef Dan Krohmer. Seating 45, it specializes in fresh, seasonal, sustainable seafood offered in styles from around the world. The restaurant’s centerpiece is the raw bar, which offers sushi, sashimi, ceviche, and a rotating selection of the freshest available oysters. The food is accented by large variety of libations that include a selection of craft beers, wine and a craft cocktails designed by award-winning mixologist David English and Dave Cooper.
